Location
and Directions
The Main
Library is located at E116 Century Road, between Farview Ave and Spring
Valley Rd. The Library is directly across the street from Paramus High
School.
From
The Garden State Parkway North:
Exit the Parkway at Exit #161 (Paramus – Route 4 East).. Take Route
4 East, and exit at Spring Valley Road. Take left turn to cross over Route
4 (towards Oradell) and continue on Spring Valley Road to second traffic
light – Century Road (left turn lane). Make left turn onto Century
Road. Entrance to the Library will be on the left opposite Paramus High
School
From
The Garden State Parkway South:
Exit the Parkway, on the left at Exit #163 (Route 17 South).
Take Route 17 South to the first exit, on the right (Century Road), toward
River Edge. Bear left and go over the overpass to East Century Road. Go
up the hill straight through the traffic light and down the hill to the
library on the right, opposite Paramus High School.
From
Route 208 / Route 4 East:
208 South becomes Route 4 East
Follow directions above for Route 4 East and Spring Valley Road.
From Route
4 West:
Enter Paramus – Pass the Bergen Mall and Kohls Shopping Center.
Exit at Spring Valley Road – Oradell. Continue north to second light
(Century Road). Make left go up small hill. Entrance to the library will
be on the left opposite Paramus High School
From
Route 17 North:
Follow Route 17 North to Century Road (1st overpass after the Garden State
Plaza mall) Take 1st exit – River Edge. This is East Century Road.
Go up hill straight through traffic light and down hill to the library
on the right. Opposite Paramus High School.
From
Route 17 South:
Follow Route 17 South to Century Road following signs for River Edge.
Bear to the left and go over the overpass to East Century Road. Go up
hill, straight through traffic light and down hill to the library on the
right. Opposite Paramus High School.
From
Route 80 East:
Take exit 64A to Route 17 North – Follow directions from Route 17
North.

Cards
All
Paramus residents are entitled to a free library card which must
be presented for every borrowing transaction. Identification with
proof of residency is required when applying for a card. A signature of
a parent or guardian is required for children under the age of 18. Children
under the age of 18 will not be allowed to borrow videos or DVDs unless
a permission slip signed by a parent or legal guardian is on file with
the library. Children are able to get a card upon reaching kindergarten
age. Lost cards are replaced for $3.00. The card is honored in all libraries
in the Bergen County Cooperative Library System (BCCLS)
Non-Bergen
County residents who work or study in Paramus can take advantage of all
the resources and services within the library by requesting a borrower's
card for use in the Paramus Public Library only. Proof of employment or
school enrollment is necessary.
You are responsible
for all materials checked out on your card. If your card is lost or stolen,
notify the library immediately.
Item Limits
and Renewals
There is a limit of 6 music CDs. There may be limits on items relating
to school assignments, holiday or seasonal items depending on the demand
for material.
New DVDs are not renewable. DVDs from the regular collection may be renewed 1 time only provided that there are no reserves for that item. All other items may be renewed up to 4 times provided that there are no reserves for that item. You can call the Circulation Desk at (201)599-1302 to request that items be renewed.
Interlibrary
loans
If
an item is not available at the Paramus Public Library we will try to
borrow it for you from another library. There is a limit of 5 requests
per day. You will be notified by telephone or e-mail when the item arrives.
You can call the Reference Department at (201)599-1305 to place a loan
or you can do it online through the library
catalog.
Reserves
If
an item is checked out to another patron, a reserve may be made. You will
be put on a waiting list and will be notified by telephone or e-mail when
the item is available. You can put an item on reserve by calling the Reference
Department at (201)599-1305 or you can do it online through the
library catalog.

Friends of
the Paramus Public Library sponsors projects and programs to benefit the
library and its services. You can become involved or simply have the satisfaction
of supporting the many worthwhile activities planned by the Friends. Membership
