Built in 1876 the white, wood frame Victorian style building originally served as the first one-room schoolhouse in Paramus. In 1993 a much needed renovation and expansion was carried out. Great pains were taken in both the exterior renovation and interior design and decor to maintain the historic character of the building. In June of 1994, the newly renamed Charles E. Reid Branch Library opened its doors to the public.
